    Cornas Granit 30 Vincent Paris

    Cuvée presentation

This Cornas owes its name to the granite terroir with its 30° gradient from where it originated. It is here that young Syrah vines are grown in a sustainable manner, without insecticide or chemical fertiliser, and harvested by hand. After partial destemming and cold maceration (to preserve the freshness and delicacy of the fruity notes), the wine was aged for three months in vats and for one year in used oak barrels (from two to eight years old).
On tasting, this wine with an intense ruby hue exudes a pronounced aromatic bouquet of black fruit and spices. The fruit flavours dominate the palate wrap themselves around the tannins. Delicious when young, however, it will become more complex after several years and requires gourmet pairings with tasty red meat or a mushroom risotto.

    Information about domain Vincent Paris

The talented Rhône winemaker Vincent Paris cultivates vines at the southern edge of the village of Cornas. He began making wine in 1997 when his grandfather left him his first hectare. Ten years later, he bought an excellent plot, La Geynale, from Robert Michel. Today, he cultivates more than nine hectares, including six in the Cornas appellation, two in the Saint-Joseph appellation, and one that lies in the vin de pays category. Vincent takes as sustainable and natural approach as possible (without insecticide or chemical fertiliser) and the steep terraces where his vines grow are the inspiration for the names of his cuvées Granit 30 and Granit 60. He produces wines with a wonderful purity and delicious fruit flavours. Some of Vincent’s bottles can be opened when young as well as after some time ageing and his Cornas wines receive frequent praise from the critics. This still fairly unknown domain is one to discover sooner rather than later.
