The wine
This Benromach 30 Year Old was bottled in 2011 by Gordon & Macphail, which acquired Benromach in 1993. It is a blend of first and second-fill sherry casks, and produced in Benromach’’s trademark traditional style, with a very subtle peat and beautiful spice notes.
About the Producer Benromach
Scotland, Speyside. Distillery operational. Owner: Gordon & MacPhail.
Independent & family-ownedUntil it reopened on 3 August 1998, activity at the Benromach distillery was characterized by a series of short periods of production followed by long periods of mothballing. This cycle ended in 1993 when the independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail bought the site and its small stock (the distillery ceased production on 24 March 1983). To celebrate the site's opening, an expression celebrating the distillery's 100 year anniversary was produced, the Benromach Centenary Bottling 1898-1998, limited to 3,500 bottles. It was the first in a long series, with the new owners releasing numerous new bottlings to make up for lost time.
