Domain: Château de Pommard The Château de Pommard is today the largest private vineyard in Côte de Beaune. In just one piece, these 20 hectares of vines, surrounded by a two-metre high stone wall, are truly unique. The château Micault was built in 1726 by Louis XVI's secretary. In 1795 a second château, Marey Monge, was constructed a little further away. This is, hence, the biggest property in the Côte, and also where Napoleon, a friend of the Marey Monge family, used to visit regularly. In 1936 the two properties were bought together by Jean-Louis Laplanche. In 2003 Maurice Giraud became the owner of the Château de Pommard.
