Domain: Disznoko Disznoko is the most extensive domaine in the Tokaj region, boasting 100 hectares of vineyards in north-eastern Hungary on the border with Slovakia. It is also one of the most renowned. Axa Millésimes – Châteaux Pichon-Longueville, Suduiraut, Petit-Village, Pibran, Domaine de l’Argot, Mas Belles Eaux, Quinta do Noval – acquired it in 1993 and totally redeveloped it. A new cellar was built in 1995, boasting the very latest technological innovations. Laszlo Meszaros, an agronomist who trained at Purpan and then in Hungary, joined Disznoko in 1995. He has managed the domaine since 2000. Six white grape varieties are cultivated in Tokaj: Fürmint, Zeta, Harslevelu, Yellow Muscat, Köverszölö and Kabar. Fürmint is the best variety for making the botrytized wine called aszus.
