Vintage description 1949 Bordeaux

One of the greatest post-war vintages in the Bordeaux region. This vintage was the hottest and sunniest since 1893, with very limited yields. The majority of these wines, concentrated, powerful and beautifully developed, are fruitier and better balanced compared to the other ¿vintage of the century¿: 1945. The Médoc and Graves wines are opulent and exceptionally-well matured. The Sauternes are incredibly complex and sumptuous.
