Vintage description 1959 Burgundy

The hot, dry weather of 1959 was particularly good for the vines. The grapes, picked under ideal conditions, were perfectly sound and ripe. As expected, all of these wines are not only very good but many of them are close to perfection. This great vintage, which is amongst the best of the century, is characterised by fine, supple and ample wines.
