A mediocre vintage due to disastrous weather conditions. A cold and rainy summer was responsible for the production of thin wines, devoid of character. Château Latour, however, produced some good wines during this particularly bad vintage. Although poor quality, the harvest was quite abundant for Sauternes. The wines, acidic and oxidised, were cruelly lacking in maturity.
