Vintage description 1969 Burgundy

The exceptional weather in the summer made up for the late flowering and ripened the grapes. The red wine has produced smaller quantities than the previous harvests but it is of a quality that has been rarely achieved over the last few years. They have a very beautiful colour, full-bodied, chewy and sappy. 1969 is amongst the best vintages of the century in Burgundy.
