Vintage description 1989 Bordeaux

An exceptional vintage with a harvest that broke all the yield records. Ripe wines, perfectly concentrated with mellow tannins, were the result of almost perfect weather conditions, together with an extremely early harvest (second earliest after 1893). Powerful and very alcoholic (up to 14.5% for certain Pomerols). The majority of these wines have a very lengthy cellaring capacity. The dry white wines are complex. The sweet wines are ample and extraordinarily rich.
