Vintage description 1998 Northern Rhone

An excellent vintage. Reduced buds triggered by the late frost had the advantage of limiting the quantity of grapes to result in a more concentrated wine. The long, hot summer that ensued, particularly in the north, produced wines that can be very good indeed, with long ageing potential. The south made the most of this weather, bringing us intensely coloured wine with high levels of concentration and long ageing potential.
