Puligny-Montrachet Le Cailleret Roulot 2017 (White)

Domaine Roulot, located in Meursault, is a family farm whose origins go back to the end of the 18th century. Guy Roulot has made this domaine one of the best of appellations (alongside Domaines such as Dominique Lafon and Coche Dury) and it now produces some of the best white wines of all Burgundy. Jean-Marc Roulot took over his father's domaine in 1989, casting aside his career as an actor (although he did not totally abandon it). The 11-hectare vineyard has been certified as organic farming since 1998 and biodynamic since the early 2000s. The vines are generally quite old, planted in the 1950-1960s from mass selection, mainly in white. Jean-Marc Roulot is unanimously recognised by his peers and by enthusiasts around the world, for his biological approach to the care given to vines, strict control of yields and perfectly controlled vinification and élevage with little intervention. Jean-Marc Roulot has chosen to vinify separately the different cuvées of Meursault villages to restore their specific characteristics. The wines are distinguished by their purity, freshness and fine minerality, thanks to harvesting with the correct ripeness. They are of an exceptionally high quality and have an assertive style. However, they are highly sought after and difficult to obtain.

Roulot. Voilà un domaine familial qui fait parler de lui à bien des égards. Son propriétaire, Jean-Marc Roulot, s'avère être un formidable vigneron et vinificateur en plus d'être un acteur au talent reconnu. Celui-ci a bâti la réputation de ses vins, et notamment de ce puligny-montrachet 1er cru sur un savoir-faire traditionnel qui se caractérise par une culture biologique certifiée et une philosophie biodynamique. En cave, le respect du vivant est perpétré grâce à une vinification naturelle et des élevages parfaitement maîtrisés et peu interventionniste.
Un travail qui a trouvé grâce à nos yeux et qui s'incarne à travers ce premier cru réputé. Nous retenons en effet de lui une robe dorée aux reflets verts et au disque épais. De celle-ci s'échappent des notes complexes, à la fois florales, fruitées, boulangères, minérales. Elles introduisent une bouche fine, bien structurée et très persistante. Taillée pour la garde, cette cuvée dévoilera tout son potentiel après une quinzaine d'années de garde. Elle se mariera à merveille à des mets nobles.
