The wine
Sainte-Croix du Mont Réserve des Villages offers an excellent price -value relationship for a vell balanced and successfull liquoreux wine. This wine pairs very well with sweet-salty dishes, foie gras and desserts, or with more original pairings such as smoked salmon. It opens to aromas of acacia and toast. There is power and concentration, on the palate but also great freshness which perfectly balances it overall, with flavours of very ripe fruits.
About the Producer Château du Pavillon
Château du Pavillon, located in the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation (in the Entre-deux-Mers Bordelais), is owned by Vivianne Fertal who also owns the Château des Roques in Loupiac. The château, built in the 18th century, is located in the higher area of the appellation, overlooking the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont vineyard and the banks of the Garonne. It produces wines with a lot of fruit and liveliness, which is relatively rare in this region where wines are marked by excessive opulence.
