More info

‘L’ouvrée’, in the language of wine growers and farmers, refers to the amount of land that one person is able to dig in one day. This unit of measure is still used in Burgundy – meaning 428 square metres – where Guillaume and Hélène learnt their trade.
This cuvée is made up of 50% Syrah, 35% Mourvèdre, and 15% Grenache. The vines of the various lieux-dits are around 35 years old and are grown organically. Some of the methods used are also biodynamic.
The wine reveals notes of black fruit in a dense palate with supple tannins. We recommend opening it at around 16°C with a dish like pheasant or venison.

About the Producer Le Clos de la Barthassade

These two thirty-somethings arrived in Languedoc in 2013 after having studied in Burgundy and Provence.
Clos de la Barthassade stretches over 13 hectares and the vines are separated into blocks. Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache Noir, Cinsault and Chardonnay all grow here as well as one surprise - Chenin! To amplify the unique soils found on the property, Hélène and Guillaume follow organic and biodynamic practices. Vinification is as natural as possible and they only use natural yeasts to make the wine. Since their first vintage in 2014, a significant number of wines lovers have fallen in love with their unique wines.
