Our CSR commitments for a more responsible wine industry
iDealwine “In the service of wine, committed to those who make it and to those who share it since 2000”
Our mission and values
Since 2000, iDealwine has made it its mission to help promote fine French and international wines around the world, and to showcase the finest wines, particularly those produced in an environmentally responsible manner. We are committed to doing our bit to help create a more sustainable and fairer world. Whether it be our environmental choices, the way we work, or the relationships we build with our customers and partners, we ensure that we act in line with the values on which the iDealwine Group has been built since 2000.
Our values:
- Team work
- Respect
- Commitment
- Excellence
- Haute-couture service
- Artisan spirit
- Ethics
- Creativity
- Recognition
- Cooperation
Each of these values is set out in detail in iDealwine’s CSR Charter.
Equality in the workplace – promoting diversity and inclusion
Every year, iDealwine publishes its Gender Equality Index. Our results demonstrate a genuine commitment to equal pay and career opportunities. We also ensure that there is as much gender parity as possible within the Executive Committee and the Supervisory Board.
- 2025 Index: 91/100 points scored
- 2025 Index: 92/100 points scored
The Professional Equality Index is calculated according to the criteria set out by the French Ministry of Labour (pay gap, pay rise gap, gender parity amongst the 10 highest earners, etc.).
Ten nationalities are represented within our teams.
Retaining and developing our talent
iDealwine is committed to fostering employee engagement and building staff loyalty. Specific measures have been taken to:
- Implement a well-organised induction programme for new staff
- Promote skills development and internal career progression
- Work to reduce the physical strain involved in handling wine bottles
- Ensure a good quality of life at work (employee satisfaction surveys, Great Place to Work certification, regular social events, an annual day out in the vineyards, etc.)
- Offer training courses to staff (WSET Level 3, etc.)
- Develop a policy for the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Involvement in iDealwine’s development
- Profit-sharing scheme
- Employee share ownership: 43% of employees are shareholders in the company (excluding founders)
Environment
Recycled and reused packaging:
We systematically reuse wine boxes for storage (several times), thereby reducing our use of new packaging. We recycle non-reusable cardboard boxes in partnership with a charity.
Sustainable carriers:
iDealwine gives preference to service providers with a responsible approach, such as Colissimo, Chronopost and UPS, which have adopted a CSR policy.
- We optimise deliveries to distant destinations (USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea), by consolidating certain orders for the majority of the journey. The packaging used is recyclable. For long-haul destinations, we favour direct flights. For certain overseas destinations (Hong Kong), we also offer delivery by sea.
- Shuttles between our logistics partner and iDealwine’s expertise lab in Colombes are optimised to avoid empty runs.
Sustainable winegrowing:
Our network of partner estates gives priority to producers committed to sustainable, organic or biodynamic farming practices — an approach we have championed since iDealwine was founded.
Over 1,100 partner estates
Green practices within the company:
iDealwine has implemented the following measures to minimise its environmental impact:
- Waste sorting
- Reduction of temperature variations (heating/air conditioning) in accordance with ADEME’s recommendations
- Car-sharing system for business travel, and consolidation of daily meal orders
- Ban on flights for business travel within France
- Partnership with the Cartons Plein association (a social and professional integration organisation based in Nanterre) for the recycling of our cardboard boxes
Inclusion and disability
Helping the disabled through work: Partnership with the ESAT (organisation supporting the disabled through employment) in La Garenne-Colombes for our logistics teams (the ESAT provides two staff members to the expertise lab every day), as well as temporary additional requirements for envelope-stuffing operations, etc.
Charity initiatives
Every year, iDealwine organises between four and six auctions in aid of charities and humanitarian causes. These include the prestigious Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction.
100 per cent of the proceeds are donated to partner charities.
Our approach at a glance
At iDealwine, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the core of our commitments. Our CSR approach is based on four pillars that guide our decisions and actions on a daily basis, and reflect our commitment to combining performance, responsible practices and a passion for wine.
Promoting wine heritage and encouraging green sourcing
iDealwine is committed to promoting increasingly sustainable sourcing – more than 50% of our estates will be certified organic or biodynamic by 2030.
The introduction, by 2028, of a joint environmental charter with winegrowers, a certification scheme and awareness-raising materials will further strengthen this commitment to environmental transparency and education.
Promoting well-being at work
iDealwine places the well-being of its staff at the heart of its CSR approach – a carefully designed induction programme, ongoing training, inclusion of people with disabilities, gender equality, support for charitable organisations and improvements to working conditions in logistics are all key factors in combining performance with quality of life.
Reducing our carbon footprint
iDealwine is taking concrete steps to reduce its carbon footprint, notably by optimising transport and packaging, reducing the number of individual shipments, and promoting eco-friendly practices throughout the company. These efforts form part of a programme of continuous improvement for the period up to 2030.
Establishing responsible and transparent governance
iDealwine is building a governance framework based on ethical practices, transparency and collective commitment. Profit-sharing schemes, access to share ownership, gender parity in decision-making bodies, the fight against fraud and corruption, strengthening GDPR compliance, cybersecurity and wine authentication all reflect this ambition.
Our commitments to our stakeholders
Because our responsibility does not end at our own doors, we pay a keen interest in all our stakeholders. Our CSR commitments are reflected in the quality of the everyday relationships we maintain with our customers, suppliers and staff.
