More info

Yves Leccia’s Muscat is a naturally sweet, fortified wine produced on the exceptional terroir of E Croce. This vineyard, cultivated organically, extends over southwest-facing clay-limestone slopes resting on a layer of schist. The vines, planted to a density of 4000 stocks per hectare, benefit from a traditional working of the soils and organic fertilisers. The winemaking process starts with whole bunch pressing, followed by 48 hours of maceration on the skins. The free-run juice and press juice are then blended before undergoing settling at low temperatures. This is followed by fermentation at 18°C in temperature-regulated, stainless-steel vats for 15 to 20 days. The fermentation process is halted by adding a neutral spirit to the wine before it is aged for six months in stainless-steel tanks.
This wine has a superb golden yellow appearance. On the nose, the elixir reveals complex aromas of white flowers, citron, spices, and honey. On the palate, it is generous, elegant, and voluptuous, with a remarkable freshness and an exceptional persistence.

About the Producer Yves Leccia

In the heart of the Patrimonio appellation, in the commune of Poghju d'Oletta, domaine d'Yves Leccia is one of the oldest properties. Winegrowing became the Leccia family's main business in around 1900. Pierrot and Angèle passed the property onto their children in the 1980s, one of whom, Yves, set up his own operation some years later. Today, it is his sister Annette who manages the original domain, whose magnificent Petra Bianca plot produces the wine of the same name. The property also produces a Muscat. The property is in the process of obtaining Ecocert organic certification.
This pure Nielluccio, produced from clay-limestone soil, is aged in vats for 24 months. It is a delicate, precise wine, with lovely aromas of red and black ripe fruit, underscored by light floral and menthol notes. Complex and powerful, the palate presents good flavourful substance, characterized by great finesse and a fresh finish, evolving towards elegant tannins. Keep for: 5 to 6 years.
