The Rías Baixas appellation, located in the north-western Galician region of Spain, is renowned for its Albariño-based white wines. The maritime climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, provides the ideal conditions for cultivating these grapes. The terroir of the Leirana Áreas de Arra cuvée is made up of well-draining granitic soils, rich in minerals. The combination of optimal sun exposure and the cooling influence of maritime breezes imparts the grapes with a distinct freshness and vibrancy. The grapes are carefully hand-picked once they reach peak ripeness. After harvest, they undergo gentle pressing, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve the fresh, fruity aromas. The wine is aged on fine lees for several months, which imparts remarkable complexity.
In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow colour with greenish tints. The nose is expressive, combining aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, and a subtle mineral note. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a beautifully balanced acidity, complemented by flavours of peach, pear, and a saline finish that evokes the sea.
