The wine
This Tuscan Merlot single varietal was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. It delivers notes of red and black fruits, myrtle and eucalyptus. Its velvety tannins and long finish make it a lovely gastronomic wine, to be paired with meat in sauces.
About the Producer Avignonesi
Domain Avignonesi was founded by the Avignonesi family, who have raised it to the highest quality in the appellation. It was bought by Virginie Saverys in 2009. Since her arrival, the vineyard has been expanded and now spans 200 hectares and biodynamic methods have been introduced. The wines have gained in authenticity and are full of character.
