Lot presentation

Vin de France Plexus Jérôme Saurigny 2015

The wine

From the Spanish Pyrenees, Cabernet Franc is carefully blended with the world-famous Cabernet Sauvignon. In the vineyards the winery aims to produce terroir-driven wines using the principles of organic farming, perfectly reflecting the flavours of the grape variety, growing in the schist, gneiss and granite soils. The winemaker applies the same approach in the cellar. Once harvested, the grapes are naturally vinified using minimal intervention and without the addition of sulphur. Fermentations take place using the indigenous yeasts naturally present in the grapes.
The strong colour is enhanced by intense shiny and violet glints. The harmonious and elegant nose unveils expressive aromas of small ripe red fruits like raspberries. The indulgent and perfectly structured palate leads to a long, fruity and lightly spiced finish. This is a cuvée that can be enjoyed young.

About the Producer Jérôme Saurigny

Jérôme Saurigny was a passionate and meticulous young winemaker when he decided to establish his own domain and name it after himself. He settled in the heart of the Loire Valley where he cultivates the region’s flagship grape varieties, including Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Sauvignon and Grolleau. Passionate about natural wines and committed to protecting biodiversity, the winemaker tends his vines with the greatest respect for the lands. Each parcel receives specific care depending on its needs, to allow the personality of each one to shine through. In the winery, the philosophy is the same. No sulphur or other inputs are used in the vinification process. Fermentation is achieved thanks to naturally occurring yeasts in the grapes. It’s against this peaceful backdrop that the winemaker produces fruity, authentic and flavoursome vintages, perfectly reflecting the region’s grape varieties.
