The Montsant appellation, recognised in 2002, benefits from a temperate Mediterranean climate ideal for vine cultivation. The soils here are predominantly clay and limestone, contributing to the wine’s distinctive character. The winemaking starts with manual harvests, followed by a meticulous sorting of the grapes. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed before fermenting in stainless steel vats with native yeasts, allowing for a pure expression of the terroir. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, imparting subtle woody and spicy notes.
In the glass, this cuvée displays a vibrant ruby-red colour. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherry and spices, combined with a floral touch. On the palate, the wine is velvety, with smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish marked by hints of candied fruit and liquorice.
