The wine
Composed of clay-chalk earth, the soil provides fleshy grapes. The harvest is carried out by hand with a careful grape selection, cold maceration, regular punching down, and delicate pressing. Matured in barrels for 18-24 months, the resulting wine is ruby red in colour, with a nose of fruits and spices and a complex, rich palate.
About the Producer Confuron-Cotetidot
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
