Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguettes Mongeard-Mugneret (Domaine) 2022

The wine

Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret exploits a large expanse of vineyard in true Burgundian tradition, spread over the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune regions, including the most prestigious villages (Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot, Nuits Saint Georges and Savigny les Beaune). At the heart of their exploitation is Vosne-Romanée. Vincent Mongeard, son of Jean, is devoted not only to maintaining and improving his family heritage, but also expanding it whenever the opportunity arises, with a view to widening the domain’s range. The estate currently cultivates around 30 hectares – spread over 33 appellations – and produce white Burgundy and Aligotés as well as, and especially, red wines from the finest climates in the Côte. The vineyard sits at mid-slope with a south-eastern orientation and clay-limestone soils. This domain produce wonderful cuvées; sophisticated and delicate, they have a superb velvety texture.
The Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits "Les Dames Huguettes" cuvée is aged in oak barrels (with one pre-use). Opening with aromas of red and dark fruits, it has astounding strength in the mouth, without altering its finesse and fine length.

About the Producer Mongeard-Mugneret

Today, the Mongeard-Mugneret domain manages, in true Burgundy tradition, a large number of vineyards which spread across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, encompassing the most prestigious "villages" (Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot, Nuits Saint Georges and Savigny les Beaune). The heart of the domain remains at Vosne Romanée. Vincent Longeard, Jean's son, endeavours not only to look after and improve the family's heritage, but also to extend the domain's range of wines whenever an opportunity arises. Today, the domain counts roughly 30 hectares, spread over 33 appellations producing Burgundy whites and Aligotés, but it mainly produces red wines that come from the best vineyards of the Côte. The vineyard, situated at mid-slope, is south-east orientated and on clay-limestone soil.
