The wine
"Poruzot" is the diminutive name for Porroux, a regional term meaning "stony places"(from the Latin Petrosa). The soil in this parcel consists of calcareous marl and a significant amount of gravel. The vines are always tended with the balance of the wine in mind and the grapes are harvested early to retain a taut quality. After being élevaged in wooden barrels for one year, the wine is decanted once and then élevaged for a second time (four to six months) in stainless steel vats to add freshness. The result is superlative.
