The wine
This Saint-Joseph is made with equal quantities of Marsanne and Roussanne grown on 30-year-old vines and fermented in stainless steel (two thirds) and oak vats for one year. The wine is pale gold in colour and has an irresistibly delicate bouquet. Its white flower, honey and white fruit aromas give a promise of its exceptionally fresh flavours. This wine is ideal with meaty fish and shellfish.
About the Producer André Perret
André Perret took over the family domain in 1982 and quickly expanded, planting vines where his father had planted other crops. He now has 12 hectares of vines in the Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Côtes-du-Rhône appellations. The parcels are cultivated with great care, yields restricted and grapes harvested by hand. The domain's Condrieu and Saint-Joseph is widely acclaimed, as is the Coteau de Chéry that comes from a single parcel that was spared by the Roman Emperor Probus at a time when many French vines were pulled up.
