Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières Domaine Jessiaume 2022
About the Producer Domaine Jessiaume
Founded in 1850, the estate remained in the hands of the Jessiaume family for over a century, preserving a deep-rooted tradition of Burgundian savoir-faire handed down through generations. In 2006, Sir David Murray, then ranked among Scotland’s most prominent fortunes, with interests in wine and minerals, acquired the property. He introduced a new direction, setting up a wine merchant business and bringing in a new team, with the aim of enhancing the quality of the wines and injecting fresh energy into Domaine Jessiaume. The estate later passed to Dr Jean-François Le Bigot, a passionate wine lover who has continued to invest significantly, embracing organic viticulture and precision, plot-by-plot management in pursuit of ever greater quality.
Today, the vines stretch over some 15 hectares in the communes of Beaune, Pommard, Volnay, Auxey-Duresses and, of course, Santenay. The estate also nurtures Premier Cru plots such as Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru Les Ecussaux and Beaune Premier Cru Les Cents Vignes.
