More info

Erythrite is one of the most expressive gems of modern Savoie winemaking. While it is little known, the appellation bears a name steeped in history: the Allobroges, the ancient Celtic people of the region, were already mentioned in Roman times. The parcel behind Erythrite is perched on the dramatic slopes of Cevins, where schist and mica-schist soils shape the wine’s distinctive character. Manual harvests involve a meticulous selection of the finest fruit. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, followed by 10 months’ ageing in seasoned oak casks, with no new oak, preserving the true character of both the grape variety and its terroir.
The clear, bright ruby hue gives way to a delicate nose combining tangy red berries, sweet spices, floral notes and a subtle stony character. The first sip is lively, introducing a silky yet taut texture, driven by bright acidity and finely textured tannins.

Ask Margaux, your digital sommelière, a question

The Domaine des Ardoisières was created ex nihilo in 1998 on land that had been planted with vines in Roman times, but which had not produced wine for centuries. Michel Grisard, one of the leading Savoyard producers, was the driving force behind the project for a long time, before handing it over to the current manager, Brice Omont in 2008.
The 24-hectare vineyard is cultivated according to organic principles and vinification is extremely natural with as little intervention as possible. With slopes sometimes reaching a 70% gradient, yields are low and the wines dazzling.
OPening a bottles of Ardoisières is to dive into the fine wine universe!
