An expressive Savoie white combining mineral freshness with generous fruit, lifted by delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus fruit.

More info

Altesse, Savoie’s iconic grape variety, finds one of its finest expressions in the Roussette de Savoie appellation. .The vines are planted in the heart of the Savoy Alps, where limestone marl and siliceous soils provide the ideal conditions for producing wines of freshness and precision. The grapes are harvested by hand, with only the finest bunches selected. In the winery, the must undergoes cold settling through temperature-controlled vat cooling at around 10°C for 96 hours before being transferred to oak casks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels, followed by a further six months in vats.
The pale hue reveals brilliant golden highlights. The nose is delicate, with aromas of white flowers and white orchard fruit, notably pear and apple. The palate is generous and fleshy, balanced by mineral freshness and complemented by notes of citrus fruit and toasted almonds.

Ask Margaux, your digital sommelière, a question

Settled in Savoie in the 1970s, Michel Grisard became a regional legend thanks to his ambitious and avant-garde choices. It was in 1994 that he decided to convert his domain to biodynamics, a largely unknown practise at the time. The only problem with his wine is how little there is of it! With just 6 hectares of vines shared between Mondeuse (red varietal) and Altesse (white varietal), he produces around 20,000 bottles a year. Following specific rules, the vine-growing has always been clean and eco-friendly with low and masterful yields. In the winery, Michel aims to vinify in whole harvests in order to preserve all the crispness of the Mondeuse grape. In 2015, Michel Grisard bowed out, and now the Giachino brothers have taken up the vineyard with the intention of continuing their predecessor's tradition and savoir-faire for as long as possible.
