A single-variety Sciaccarellu wine that comes from a specific plot with schist rock. An intriguing, full-bodied, rich and mineral wine with hints of Espelette pepper. It pairs perfectly with exotic dishes.
More infoThis Sciaccarellu cuvée is cultivated on soil composed of rounded stones facing the Southeast and at 270 metres high. The grapes are hand harvested and sorted into crates. The soil the vines grow on is worked with machines while also applying biodynamic methods to promote healthy and sustainable vines. The grapes are first pressed using a pneumatic press and then fermented in vats with native yeast. Afterward, the wine is matured in tanks for 14 to 18 months without fining or filtering to preserve the integrity and purity of the wine.
The nose is rich, with inviting aromas of blackberry, raspberry, pepper, smoke and tobacco. The palate is versatile and fruity, finishing with fresh, delicate tannins that evoke chocolate and spice. The refined floral notes give this lively wine sophisticated tannins and a remarkably refreshing quality. The complex finish comes together with a vigorous spiciness reminiscent of Espelette pepper.

About the Producer Domaine Vico
Domaine Vico, an historic estate in Ponte Leccia, a village situated in Corsica, was founded in 1901 and now covers 49 hectares of schist, basalt, granite and rolled-pebble soils located between 260m and 360m of altitude. This unique mountainous terroir in the centre of Ile de Beauté (a nickname for the island) offers the perfect alliance between Mediterranean conditions and cool mountain air. The vines are all native varieties, and the estate is lucky enough to possess several plots of old vines. It gained its biodynamic certification in 2020 and follows these principals in the vineyard as well as the cellar.
The property was created by Jean Vico and was later bought by Jean-Marc Venturi and his cousin in François Acquaviva in 1987. They then decided to divide the vineyards in 2005, creating distinct two properties: Clos Venturi and Domaine Vico.
The latter is seen as a rising star of Corsica with its white wines that possess a wonderful minerality and its fresh reds that contain delicate tannins.
