Cairanne Réserve des Seigneurs Oratoire Saint-Martin - Frédéric et François Alary 2015

The wine

The Reserve des Seigneurs is the most representative cuvée of the production of L'Oratoire Saint-Martin in Cairanne, with a blend of the domain’s different terroirs and a significant proportion of Mourvèdre, which is the identity card of wines from this property. The easiest cuvée to approach, which can be drunk quickly, but which already has considerable substance (the vines are over 50 years old!). Ageing takes place in vats. Decant into a carafe one hour before the meal. This Cairanne will pair well with rustic cooking.

About the Producer Oratoire Saint-Martin

Frédéric and François Alary have been in charge of Domaine de l’Oratoire Daint-Martin since 1984 and represent the 10th generation of winemakers at the head of this vineyard! The great majority of this domaine is located to the north east of the Cairanne commune at around 200 metres altitude on a steep hill in an area known locally as “the mountain”. The domaine is certified biodynamic, yields are low and grapes are picked at optimum maturity. Elevage takes place in concrete vats, demi-muids or foudres. This producer is regarded as one of the best in Cairanne (along with domaine Richaud) and deserves its reputation as a reference!
