The vinification to produce this cuvée of Sangiovese, Percarlo, is nothing short of art; it is only produced in the finest years. We enjoy its fruity, vanilla and toasted aromas, as well as its density and unctuosity.

More info

This 100% Sangiovese is produced from the finest (and oldest) vines. Produced only in the best years, Percarlo brings together carefully selected grapes from six different parcels, on a total of eight hectares. In the vineyard, the grapes are harvest late, by hand. In the winery, the grapes ferment with ambient yeasts. The wine is then matured for 22 months in French oak barrels and aged a further 15 months in bottles before its release. Rich and unctuous with delicious fruity, vanilla and toasted aromas.

About the Producer San Giusto A Rentennano

The estate can trace its history back to the mediaeval era, as it was fortified by the Florentines in 1204. It still bears the traces of these fortifications, notably in the ageing cellar. San Giusto a Retennano passed into the hands of the Martini di Cigala family by marriage in 1914. Today, it is managed by their descendants and their partners – Anna, Lucia, Elisabetta, Francesco, Alessandro and Luca. They have all played their part in achieving organic certification for the domaine.
