Intensity
A fresh, mineral Beaujolais Blanc with a pure, vibrant aromatic expression offering refined and lively white flowers and fruit notes.
More infoThough rare in a region famed above all for its red wines, this Beaujolais Blanc captures the true spirit of the Beaujolais terroir. The vineyard rests on the region’s characteristic granite soils, which are especially suited to the aromatic precision and finesse of Chardonnay, in an area predominantly planted with red grape varieties. Granite lends the wine delicate minerality, freshness and striking tension. Harvests are manual with strict sorting, followed by a natural fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel vats. Ageing on fine lees during several months builds aromatic complexity and texture. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its purity and vibrancy.
In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow hue with green glints. The nose is fresh, marked by aromas of green apple and pear, lifted by delicate floral notes and a subtle mineral edge. The palate is lively yet supple, with bright acidity, an elegant texture and a gently saline, persistent finish.

About the Producer Jean Foillard
Domaine Jean Foillard is, undeniably, one of the most famous producers in Beaujolais. The estate has about 20 hectares of vines, mainly in the Morgon and Fleurie appellations. Jean Foillard, who took over the property in 1981, was inspired by Marcel Lapierre to manage his vines in a style that is as close to organic as possible (most of the hectares are, in fact, certified organic). Foillard's techniques aim to preserve as much fruit as possible without the use of sulphur. His meticulous and delicate vinifications result in wines with a silky mouth feel.
His wines stand out for their intensity of fruit, their freshness as well as for their good balance of structure and delicacy. These are wines that can be enjoyed now or in a few years and are a gold standard for Beaujolais.
The future of the estate is in good hands. Jean has passed on all his knowledge to his son Alex, who also owns some vines that he operates under his own name in Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly. Foillard is a promising name that continues to contribute to the region's dynamism.
