More info

To craft this wonderful Volnay premier cru, there is a rigorous selection process. The parcel used is very small, at just 0.18 hectares, with a soil composed of red chalk. The vines are over 60 years old, and entirely planted in Pinot Noir. The wine is matured in oak barrels for one year before passing to vats for three months to finish off. It has a delicate nose with aromas of dark fruit and spices. It has an elegant palate with subtle tannins. It should be tasted at 16-17°C after a quick aeration. To be enjoyed within 12 years. Pair this wine with a dish such as beef and onion. The Bouzereau family has been making wine for seven generations. The vineyard extends across over ten hectares in some beautiful appellations, making precise and elegant wines. Even if most of his wines are white, we are especially pleased with the reds.

About the Producer Michel Bouzereau et Fils

In 1999, Jean-Baptiste officially took over Domaine Michel Bouzereau, proudly adding ‘et fils' to the estate name. This producer inherited a well-established family history, since the Bouzereaus have been making wine in Meursault for 7 generations. Observant and attentive, Jean-Baptiste spends most of his time in the vineyard, carefully watching the vines and working on the soil, convinced as he is that healthy fruit is the key to fine wine. The vines are grown sustainably with a philosophy moving towards organics. In 2008, he finished working on his new winery, giving him much more space to take care of each of his cuvées individually and adapt to their rhythm. The wines all come from parcels in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Pommard and Volnay, each of them increasingly appreciated for their elegance and finesse. Each of them respect the specificity of terroir and vintage.
