About the Producer Des Closiers

Located in Parnay, the estate takes its name from the winegrowers who worked in walled vineyards at the foot of the hillside, known as closiers. The estate covers 24 hectares of vines, on average 35 years old, growing on soils mainly consisting of clay and limestone. With 90% of the vines planted with Cabernet Franc, the estate also cultivates a few plots of Chenin to produce wines that express all the finesse and richness of the Saumur Champigny terroir. Each parcel, ideally positioned on the hillside along the communes of Parnay, Souzay-Champigny and Dampierre, benefits from careful, balanced viticulture. More than half the vines are certified organic, while the other half is in conversion. All the work carried out on the estate adheres to strict specifications, guaranteeing the finest raw materials and exceptional wines.
