The wine
Among the seven Grand Cru vineyards of Chablis, Les Clos is both the largest and the most renowned, covering around 26 hectares. This exceptional terroir enjoys an ideal south-westerly exposure, ensuring perfect conditions for the grapes to ripen. Its yields wines of great aromatic complexity offering remarkable ageing potential. The hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes undergo meticulous sorting before being gently pressed to extract the juice delicately. Spontaneous fermentation then takes place in stainless-steel vats. Finally, the wine is aged on its fine lees for several months, with regular stirring to bring added depth and fullness.
In the glass, the wine reveals a pale yellow hue with silvery glints. The bouquet reveals intense aromas of white blossoms, fresh almond, and yellow fruit, lifted by refined mineral notes. On the palate, a bright, lively attack gives way to beautiful tension. The aromas echo the nose, leading toward a long, elegant, and harmonious finish.
About the Producer Regnard
This Chablis house is one of the oldest in the appellation: it was in fact founded in 1860 by Zéphir Regnard. Over 100 years later, in 1984, baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the domain. The domain boasts parcels in the seven grands crus and 5 of the main premiers crus.
