Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru Sylvain Cathiard & Fils 2002

The wine

Among wine lovers this Romanée-Saint-Vivant from Sylvain Cathiard & Fils is one of the most highly prized wines. Straightaway, it has an extremely refined and sublime nose with aromas of slightly candied black fruit and subtle, spicy notes. On the palate it reveals itself to be full-bodied and very elegant, well-structured with softened tannins and astounding length. A wine that pairs well with sophisticated meat-based dishes and with veal in particular.

About the Producer Sylvain Cathiard & Fils

The origins of the Domaine Sylvain Cathiard et Fils date back to the 1920s when Alfred Cathiard began to acquire the first parcels of vines in Vosne. The wine heritage of the family is very prestigious with very fine plots of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Romanée-St-Vivant. The domaine is now managed by Sylvain Cathiard and his son Sébastien. Their wines are of a very high quality and are almost impossible to find in France. They are characterised in particular by their great finesse and their harmony.
