Vougeot 1er Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot La Vougeraie 2018

The wine

The Premier Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot is élevaged in barrels for 18 months (30% new wood). The nose produces intense aromas of flowers and fruit (white and yellow fruit, citrus fruit), as well as notes of star anise and hazelnut. On the palate, an excellent minerality complements the fruity aromas; a wine which is powerful yet at the same time deep, with freshness and good aromatic persistence. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to high-quality fish with firm flesh, such as sole, bass or cod.

About the Producer La Vougeraie

Domaine de la Vougeraie, which is located in Vougeot, was created in 1999 by the Boisset family by merging the different vines belonging to the family. The vineyard now has 34 hectares spread over 67 plots and 27 appellations, two-thirds of the surface being in Côte de Nuits, the rest in Côte de Beaune. The vineyard heritage is of a high quality with parcels of Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyères, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne, and Les Damodes Bâtard-Montrachet. The vineyard is certified in organic farming. This domaine has risen to the best level and produces wines which combine concentration and finesse.
