The wine
This wine is a clear reflection of its terroir. The owner of the family domain, Christophe Cordier, is dedicated to crafting fine, terroir wines at the level of those from the Côte d’Or. For this, the raw material takes centre stage. The soil is worked to encourage microbial life and get the roots to push deep for their nutrients. The Chardonnay grapes reach optimal maturity thanks to thorough pruning, and are harvested by hand before being transported to the winery in small cases. They are pressed in whole bunches and their must is fermented by wild yeasts. At each stage, the temperature is carefully controlled, and the wine is matured at length on lees. There is no fining and a light filtration as the wine is bottled.
In the glass we find a wine marked by a lovely yellow colour; in time, this takes on a golden hue. It exudes delicate notes of white fruit, white flowers, nuts, and baking. The palate is equally as elegant and generous. Its silky side is balances by a minerality and acidity that promise freshness and a good potential for ageing.
