Lot presentation

Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epenots Château de Meursault 2017

The wine

Famed as being one of Pommard's finest premier cru wines, the defining feature of Clos des Epeneaux is its well-drained, warm limestone soils. The domain practises manual harvesting and a traditional parcel-based vinification, along with around fifteen months' élevage in casks (25% new wood). This Pommard Premier Cru is defined by its muscular, virile profile. Full-bodied, with perfect balance, it is surrounded by fruity, spicy notes lent to it by the wood throughout its élevage. Its excellent length makes it a perfect pairing with grilled meats, or meat in sauce.
