Sancerre La Bourgeoise Henri Bourgeois 2011
The wine
This wine comes from the domain’s oldest vines. Half of the wine is vinified in vats and the other in casks on fine lees. The élevage lasts for one year in vats and casks. This is a characterful wine with a lovely aromatic palette, with aromas of flint and spices. On the palate, the wine has quite a vegetal character, with perfect balance and fabulous concentration. Characterised by its lovely roundness and acidity, with aromas of exotic fruits (mango, passionfruit).
About the Producer Henri Bourgeois
Domaine Henri Bourgeois comes from a long line of winemakers with the family now on its 10th generation of producers. The vineyard has expanded from just 2 hectares in 1950 to 72 hectares today, with a multitude of plots (almost 120) scattered across the finest terroirs in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. In addition to this vineyard there is a trading business and an organic vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand (acquired in 2000).
