The wine

The Jura is a historic winegrowing region in eastern France, known for its indigenous grape varieties such as Savagnin, Poulsard and Trousseau, as well as its singular white wines. Here, Chardonnay vines are tended in a natural, low-intervention spirit, producing wines of great purity. This wine comes from old vines rooted in typical clay-limestone soils. In the winery, vinification is natural and low-intervention, with fermentation carried out by the native yeasts present on the berries. The wine is then aged in oak casks and bottled without fining or filtration.
In the glass, the pale yellow hue reveals golden highlights. The precise, elegant bouquet reveals green apple, lemon and crushed almond, lifted by a hint of stony minerality. The saline palate carries deep mineral energy and flows into a long, pure finish.

Nestled in the Jura, the estate is home to endemic grape varieties planted on just two or three hectares of land. At the helm is Emmanuel Lançon, whose deep commitment is evident in his meticulous vineyard practices?–?working the soils by horse and by hand?–?and in his painstakingly natural approach to winemaking. Interestingly, the winemaker also works in a completely different field.
