Savennières Roche aux Moines Château de Chamboureau Cuvée Chevalier Buhard 1989

The wine

This cuvée owes its name to the lieu-dit from which it comes, which obtained its name after being given to the monks of Saint Nicolas in 1285. With a great potential for keeping, it has a golden colour which exudes a fresh, intense aromatic bouquet with aromas of honey and acacia, candied fruit and nuts. In the mouth, its full-bodied persistence is balanced against a mineral character which lends it great freshness.

About the Producer Château de Chamboureau

For the Savennières appellation, Château de Chamboureau is a historic domaine since it was founded over 400 years ago. In 2007, this 18 hectare vineyard was bought by a local businessman, Philip Fournier. Together with Domaine Jo Pithon, it is part of Domaine FL. Comprising several really wonderful parcels on fully south-facing hillside slopes, the vineyard is in part farmed organically.
