The wine
Nestled between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis is home to the locality Les Monts Luisants, ideally oriented to the east. The Pinot Noir vines grow on stony limestone soils at elevations between 300 and 370 metres. In the vineyard, harvesting is carried out with care, followed by meticulous sorting of the bunches. In the winery, traditional vinification takes place in open vats, with a long maceration including gentle punch-downs and pump-overs to preserve fruit and structure. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak, with a small proportion of new wood.
The ruby-red hue shows bright garnet glints. The complex, refined bouquet layers red fruit with dried floral tones and fine sweet spice. On the palate, a silky, finely woven tannic backbone brings remarkable balance between power and elegance, leading into a long, saline, persistent finish.
