Château-Chalon Courbet 1975

About the Producer Courbet

Located in Nevy-sur-Seille, in the heart of the Jura region, Domaine Courbet was established in the 19th century and is renowned as one of the region’s oldest and most emblematic estates. Since 2011, the family business is headed by Damien Courbet, an oenology graduate who took over from his parents after working at various wine estates. The vineyard covers nine hectares, half of which are planted in Château-Chalon and the other half in the Côtes du Jura. From the outset, the winegrower undertook a thorough restructuring of his cultivation methods and adopted a healthier, more precise approach to working the land. The entire estate has been biodynamically cultivated for several years now, and is certified organic. The grapes are hand-picked and then vinified in a low-intervention fashion with indigenous yeasts. This rigorous approach produces remarkable vintages that evolve beautifully and reflect the Jura identity to perfection.
