Mâcon-Loché En Prés Forêts Le Clos des Rocs (Domaine) 2024

The wine

This domain is gradually being talked about thanks to this Mâcon from a small sustainably farmed plot. The 25-year-old vines are grown on clay-limestone soils and benefit from south-easterly exposure. This allows the aromatic concentration of the grapes. The grapes are harvested manually with gentle vinification (slow pressing, cold racking). Élevage takes place both in stainless-steel vats (60%) and in 4-wine barrels (40%) for 11 months. Fine-cut and firm, the juice unfurls on notes of very ripe citrus fruit and subtle floral hints.

About the Producer Le Clos des Rocs

Olivier Giroux is a passionate wine grower, who only bought Clos des Rocs in 2002. As he says himself, his ultimate goal for his wines is to put "a smile of pleasure on the face of the person who enjoys them". He has succeeded in this respect especially since the field has focused on organic wine cultivation since 2005, and is awaiting certification. On this unique land in Loché, Olivier Giroux does high quality work.
