A top shelf Saint-Emilion, fruity, rich and voluptuous!
More infoLarcis Ducasse’s terroir means that it can produce concentrated, sun-drenched wine that always retains a certain elegance. It has an attractive dark fruit and spice bouquet. As it develops, it delivers distinctive truffle notes. A wine to be savoured after 7 to 20 years of cellaring.
Wine Advocate - Robert Parker : Matured 40% in barrels (50% new), 45% in large-format barrels (also 50% new) and the balance in foudres, the 2025 Larcis Ducasse reveals an elegant, vibrant and gourmand bouquet of violet, dark berries, dark cherries and flowers, accented by delicate spicy notes. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it’s built around a ripe—yet not overripe—core of fruit framed by velvety tannins, concluding with a floral, harmonious and ethereal finish. This is a pure expression of Larcis Ducasse and one of the most accomplished renditions produced here to date.
A lovely delicious, seductive nose, revealing well-ripened fruit (black and red fruits) and floral notes (violet). The palate delivers a tenderness, all soft and delicate, supported by highly elegant, powdery tannins. The finish is full of freshness, intense, and peppery, and marked by elegant eucalyptus notes. The ensemble possesses a beautiful balance. A unanimous favourite of ours. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc
About the Producer Château Larcis Ducasse
Larcis Ducasse is a 11-hectare château in the commune of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, on the famous Côte Pavie. Nicolas Thiepont is now at the helm of the domaine, with Stéphane Derenencourt as his advisor. Ranked 1er grand cru, this Saint-Emilion has made impressive progress. Larcis Ducasse’s exceptional terroir can produce sun-drenched wines which are usually much more balanced than those made by some of its neighbours.
