Santenay 1er Cru Clos Du Passe Temps Fleurot Larose 1995

The wine

This winemaking estate, founded towards the end of the 19th century, crafts a white Santenay from the Clos du Passe Temps Premier Cru, which is owned entirely by the winery. Enjoying an oceanic climate with a semi-continental influence, the Chardonnay vines which make up this vineyard soak up their nutrients from soils made up of marl and marly limestone. Cultivation methods respect the environment, the soil and biodiversity. For this reason, each parcel is treated with the utmost care to showcase its quintessential character in every glass. In order to achieve this, vinifications use minimal intervention and sulphur is only added homeopathically. On tasting we find a wine with a pale yellow colour with a delicate aromatic bouquet of white flowers and fruits, citrus and dried fruits, such as almonds. Dense yet balanced by a wonderful minerality on the palate, it would pair perfectly with poultry and white fish dishes.

About the Producer Fleurot Larose

Dating back to 1872, Domaine Fleurot Larose lies at the heart of Burgundy’s wine-growing landscape and has seen generations of winegrowers come and go. Nestling in the charming commune of Sautenay, this vineyard has been home to generations of winemakers. Typical regional grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Aligoté are passionately cultivated with the utmost respect for the land and biodiversity, in order to preserve the essential balance between man and nature. Each parcel receives specific care depending on its needs, to allow the personality of each one to shine through. In the winery, vinification involves minimal intervention and sulphur is added in minute quantities. This allows the terroir and grape varieties to naturally develop all their aromas and specificities in each vintage. The estate strives to produce authentic, tasty wines that reflect the traditional expertise of a family of passionate winemakers.
