The wine

Domaine Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet crafts this white Chassagne-Montrachet from Chardonnay grapes. They benefit from a semi-continental influence, drawing the necessary nutrients to flourish from limestone and marl soils, which give this wine a subtle balance between density and a wonderful, lively minerality. Aged in wood, this wine has the potential for around ten years of cellaring. It reveals itself through a yellow colour with green glints which, with time, evolve to gold. A thick rim promises unctuousness, strengthened by the fragrances of ripe white and yellow fruits, fresh butter, honeysuckle and almonds. The palate is dense and full-bodied, yet balanced by a minerality and natural acidity, the backbone of the wine. This bottle should be enjoyed with oily fishes or poultry in a cream sauce.
