Côte de Nuits-Villages Chopin-Groffier 1996

The story of the estate started in 1975, when it was known as Domaine Chauvenet Hubert. Évelyne and Hubert Chauvenet, passionate and enterprising winemakers, became the proud owners of Domaine Chauvenet-Chopin when they decided to take over the family estate in 1985. Their acquisition of the Domaine Chopin-Groffier in Comblanchien in 2001 resulted in the estate we know today. Évelyne and Hubert now cultivate almost 14 hectares of vines in the Côte de Nuits and Nuits-Saint-Georges appellations. The estate firmly believes in the benefits of sustainable viticulture for its vines and wines. In the winery, the vinification process is traditional, with as little intervention as possible. Even today, the estate continues to develop and evolve towards increasingly healthy and sustainable growing and vinification methods, to produce terroir-driven wines that reflect the specific characteristics of each parcel.
