Collines Rhodaniennes Gangloff (Domaine) 2017
Originally from Alsace, Yves Gangloff moved to the Rhône Valley in the late 1970s, after meeting the woman who would become his wife there. He began by getting a job as a farm labourer at Delas, where he learnt the trade of viticulture and winemaking. In parallel to this, Gaston André, a local winegrower, offered to sell the couple some vines. And so the Gangloff legend began. Initially, Mathilde and Yves Gangloff sold their harvest to wine merchants before releasing their first vintage in 1992. Success was not long in coming, and the estate expanded. Following Mathilde’s death in 2011, the Gangloff children, Loup and Elsa, took over the business. The vines and wines are cultivated as naturally as possible, using methods similar to organic farming (though not certified) and natural winemaking techniques.
A leading figure in the Rhône Valley, Yves Gangloff is an artist winemaker who demonstrates a unique sensibility through his wines, in particular. Both his Côte-Rôtie and his Condrieu have long been highly prized by winelovers.
