Montilla Moriles Bodegas Toro Albala Amontillado Reserva Especial 1950
The wine
This wine is one-of-a-kind because it is put through oxidative ageing in oak barrels for 35 years. It has a highly complex nose with aromas of spice (clove, pepper, nutmeg) and dried fruits, and tobacco notes. The palate is wonderfully vivacious and very fresh, with volume and good balance.
About the Producer Bodegas Toro Albala
Bodegas Toro Albala was established in 1844 in Aguilar de la Frontera, 50 kilometres from Cordova, by Antonio Sánchez Prieto. The vineyard is now run by Antonio Sanchez Romero and the grape varieties grown include a high proportion of indigenous Pedro Ximenez. Toro Albala is divided between two main sites, one in Aguilar de la Frontera and the other in Moriles. Wine from this reference domaine for the region is exported to all four corners of the globe.
