A Pinot Noir perfectly expressing the multiple facets of the terroir.

More info

A quintessential Burgundian grape variety, Pinot Noir has the ability to translate the full range of the terroir’s nuances and flavours with finesse. These vines, planted back in 1930, grow on clay-rich soils. Low intervention vinification is performed following the manual harvest carried out at optimum ripeness, leaving the fruit free to express its delicious aromas. The grapes are fermented in wooden vats. Lastly, the wine is aged in casks, 15% of which are new, for 16 months before being bottled unfiltered.
The elegant ruby colour reveals a nose of ripe red and black fruit aromas. In the mouth, a burst of fruity and floral notes, along with hints of spice, combine perfectly with supple tannins. The wine offers several years of ageing potential.

About the Producer Domaine des Croix

David Croix was the winemaker at the famous Camille Giroud house in Beaune for nearly 15 years. In 2011 the business was bought by the American Ann Colgin, a winegrower at the top of the Napa Valley, with a financial backer. While working for Camille Giroud, in 2005 David Croix created his own impressive personal domain, with private capital from rich American wine enthusiasts, who gave him "carte blanche" as the director of the fledgling Croix domain. The domain's parcels were concentrated around Beaune, with numerous premiers crus, but also the neighbouring appellations of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. Although not certified, his wines are close today to the greatest organic names and his microcuvées sell like hot cakes around the world.
